A Face appeared in the Clouds above as the storm Clouds below were forming...it appeared as if the profile of the Face was looking down upon the menacing storm Clouds covering the Earth...fascinating. "A Face in the Clouds" Fine Art Photography by Barbara Chichester.....Clouds are formed in Earth's atmosphere when water evaporates into vapor from oceans, lakes, ponds, and even streams and rivers; and by evaporation or transpiration over moist areas of Earth's land surface. The vapor rises up into colder areas of the atmosphere due to convective, orographic, or frontal lifting. The water vapor attaches itself to condensation nuclei which could be anything from dust to microscopic particles of salt and debris. Once the vapor has been cooled to saturation, the cloud becomes visible. All weather-producing clouds form in the troposphere, the lowest major layer of the atmosphere. However very small amounts of water vapor can be found higher up in the stratosphere and mesosphere and may cond...

I'm convinced that Mother Nature's illusiveness is part of her loveliness. Now you see it; now you don't. Every moment in nature, every cloud formation, every sunrise, sunset, flower, tree, snow flake is unique. The joy of photography is capturing that unique moment and sharing it with the rest of the world, don't you agree? great job, Barbara. This kind of cloud formation will never happen again.

When I was a kid I used to see faces in the clouds that drifted by. I knew the earth spun in a circle, so every day I'd go outside and wait for my face cloud to come by again. Love that your inner child is visualizing faces in the clouds Barbara!
