Description
Southwest Lizard Art created by Barbara Chichester. My signature style of art which I call Paintography, combines my photography and digital art painting. This is my rendition of the New Mexico State reptile, the Whiptail lizard. Interestingly enough, the Whiptail are all females, yes that is correct, all females.
The New Mexico Whiptail lizard produces twice the number of chromosomes as other types of Whiptail lizards which mate normally. A process of recombination of these chromosomes then occurs, somewhat similar to what happens in normal male/female pairings, which then produces genetically diverse offspring!
Turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, resulting in interesting contemplation and conversation, is my Art style.
As I become immersed in each piece of art I create, art takes on a life of it's own in the process. I love what I do and am happy and privileged to share it with you.
Additionally, I want to share with you that art is subjective, it is very personal... there are no rights and wrongs to it, it is a simply matter of preference, taste and personal interests. I hope you will enjoy my style of art as it is meant to cause contemplation, interesting conversation and hopefully provide you with pleasure in viewing it.
